Sophia Lucille Vincent

Here are the first batch of photos from our Sunday evening trip to the fabulous, groovy Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. My sister was born there, my mother was born there and now my two children were born there. Three generations of Vincent women have been born there. Not a bad stretch run if I do say so...(and yes, technically Mom is a Cordes but bear with me)

I took this as Debbie was having an infrequent contraction. Mom was stealing money from Debbie! Character and Fitness!
Only kidding. Debbie asked Mom to clean her purse, mom obliged.
Debbie, in labor.
Debbie's delivery room reading.
Some clown.
On the phone with Beth.
Inside the maternity ward.
The double doors. I wonder if the maternity ward is structured to simulate birth? Wouldn't that mean that babies exit through double doors?
In the distance are Ron and Maureen, who fielded the call of labor and drove from their bunker outside of Lovells to be with us. The roads were getting rather treacherous, they saw their fair share of nasty conditions but they made it safely. This was rather a lucky stroke as I was going to walk around the hospital taking photos of the empty place when I saw them.
Fast forward a few hours and here we see our little lady, Sophia Lucille.
Blocking the bright light from her little eyes.

When Jack was born I had bought an airplane sized bottle of Jack Daniels to drink in a celebratory gesture. I never did. Well doggone it, I bought another one and this time when she was safely delivered I poured a bottle of coca cola into this lovely styrofoam cup and poured in the bottle. I drank it until I left the hospital. I don't think I'd do it again.
Here she is on the scale, being weighed in grams. Her weight turned out to be 8lbs, 7oz. Ron had predicted 8lbs 3oz, while I predicted my usual terrifying weight of 14lbs.

With her paternal grandmother, Patricia Lucille. I don't have any photos at the moment of Sophia with her maternal grandmother, Maureen Lucille.
So I'm named after my grandmothers? Cool. And my great-grandmother's name was Lucille? Cool. And my great-great-greatgrandmother on Dad's side was named Sophia? Cool. Lots of history to the name we chose for our little lovely lady.

And that is all for this moment. It has been a very long day. I have a lot more photos to upload tomorrow and will have photos of Debbie coming home with Sophia, Jack meeting his sister and then I plan on taking Jack to the hotel where Mom and Dad are staying to have him play in the pool.
Even though I have class tomorrow is going to be a good day.

Are you sure she wasn't named after Sophia Patrillo? hahaha I crack myself up. It's good to know Ron & Maureen made it to TC safely and that they got to be there when Sophia was born!

Sophia is even lovelier than I had imagined. I can't wait to hold her for the first time.
