Now last week I looked at the website and thought that maybe it was too old for him, the exhibits and such. So I bailed.
This week I had second thoughts and we traveled to lovely, scenic and historic(seriously) downtown Lansing to see the sights.
Jack fell asleep right as we were driving by the capital and that almost derailed the trip. Mom thought we should go and I agreed.
Just a lovely sight of a building down by the river. I liked the feel of the riverside here, something was familiar about it.
I will never forget one girl who was in a bad accident with a bad former boyfriend who escaped without injury. She stood there and said, "I am so angry with him." It broke my heart then and it does to this day.
This is the solar system model that begins by the museum and spans down the river trail. It is neat but the one in TC is neater.
Mom leading Jack in the stroller, which we brought just in case. I remember when he didn't fit too well in there, being too small. Now he seems a bit too big.
Wacky, creepy statue.
..with a banal name.
The enterance
The elevator.
Is that...I think that is....IT IS! DADA LOOK! LOOK! LOOK! ITS.....

In the heart, looking for the Aortic valve. This is the valve that Robin Williams is having replaced, neccesitating the cancellation of the show next week that Mom and Dad were going to attend.
Jack tries out for the Residents.

The vibes ain't nothing but the vibes.
My very own Milt Jackson

This is the bottom of a flip flop, for those that are wondering.
What's that? No sucka, I don't take requests.
Nicky Hopkins? Never heard of him. (second Stones reference)

I have been playing my boy Piano based Jazz and Classical music since he was born. To say that seeing him at the piano filled me with a sense of pride is an understatement.
MICK JAGGER!
Watch out Jeff Haas!

Playing with the 'simple machines'

Beast of Burden (not too subtle third Stones reference)

Acting like plaque.

BUBBLES!~

Now this pic was taken in the part of the museum that was specifically for those children betwen the ages of 0-4. Hard to think that Jack is in that range, but when Mom went in there with him(I did not attend as I was wearing no socks and you had to take off your shoes) he had a blast, cooking up the plastic vegetables the room had. I'm sorry I missed being in there with him.

Creating a havoc among the plastic, glow in the dark dinos!
And finally the wacky, one eyed statue that greets you upon entry to the museum. I have to say that is looks smaller from above, bigger from below. Totally wacky.
I'd take Jack back there in a heartbeat, it was fun and a really nice time that we had in the morning. I'm glad we went and sorry that Debbie didn't get a chance to experience it when I was waffling last week. Next time we are in town perhaps.

I wish I could have been there for that! It looks like he had a great time.
