The Day Today

We had an initial plan to head downstate this weekend, to hang out and so forth. But there was too much going on and we decided to stay in town. A friend of Debbie's was throwing a birthday party for their son and so we changed the evite from maybe to yes and planned on heading that way in the afternoon.
So with our morning free we went to the Farmers Market in town. This was my first farmers market, it was rather busy. Debbie disappeared into the scrum to get her fresh veg and I stood on the bridge with Jack, looking around.
I finally saw her and we met up near the corn tractor near the Amish farmers. She bought two ears of corn, dropping eighty cents.
As I'm standing there, waiting, a woman approached me. She asked if my name was Mike, and I said yes it is. She asked me my last name. I sorta looked sideways at her and told her at which point she told me who she was.
I had thought that maybe she was a friend of Moms, Mom does know people in the area, from the time we lived here originally and other friends that have retired to the area.
Turns out that this was my first grade teacher, Mrs.Fulkerson, from Pathfinder.
Mind you I have not seen her in close to 28 years.
I gave her a half hug due to holding Jack, introduced her to Jack and then Debbie and told her what I was up to. I was really at a loss for words as to what to say and I felt like I having her stare at the sun, it was very bright and there was no shade where we were.
I hope to see her again and try to catch up a little bit more, but Debbie was really shocked that she would recognize me after so long.
Anyways this was the one photo of Jack I took, wearing a pair of sunglasses I call the Bono shades, which I claimed from lost and found once.
Haven't posted a cat photo in some time so here is one for the masses.
This giant mother of a boat has been popping in and out of Traverse for the past four weeks. I'm glad to have gotten a photo and thus prove that I am not crazy and this is a real boat.
On the way to the Children's House, the site of the party and a private Montessori school. (From what we saw that place is BEAUTIFUL)
In the gym, with the requisite orange gym lights.

Jack pushed this cart all around the back of the gym.

Chasing the purple ball. Which sounds like a Burroughs story.
How you doin'? aka the Gus Heinrich method.

A little bit of lunch.

Yes, as a matter of fact, Jack is not chewing on this slice, he is sucking on it. Which is the true Italian way to eat a slice.
After the birthday song, we are about to split.
A self portrait. Obviously. The gym was, how to put this, HOT, and so that glisten you see on me is, in fact, sweat. I looked and felt like I was going on safari.
On our way home.

This took forever to load but I am glad I got it up here all the same!
