Throwbacks

I am done with school, for now, and trying to enjoy the last few weeks I will have with my family before I begin student teaching.
I'm trying to appreciate the little things and not worry about how much everything is about to change.
After having spent the last 19 months as a stay at home dad the thought of everything changing is tough to comprehend. It makes everything else going on feel very trivial to me.
Due to weather and other events my planned trip to Lansing with Jack was postponed for a few days(most likely) from Tuesday to Thursday. I hope to have fun with Jack, go to museums, the Capitol and Supreme Court for pictures and general time spent.
I have photos to post but will also be mixing in some photos of Debbie and I when we were kids. Babies really.
Here is the first batch, scanned by my Dad and sent to me over the past week.
I'm quite young in these photos, in case you couldn't tell.
With my paternal grandmother, Alyce, in her AWESOME dining room in East Grand Rapids. That wallpaper? Money.
Correction courtesy of Dad:
My mothers name is spelled Alyce, not Alice.
The picture of my mother holding you was in her kitchen, not dining room.

Correction courtesy of my Dad:
Holy Name Cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, one of the largest Roman Catholic dioceses in the United States. It is also the parish church of the Archbishop of Chicago. YOU WERE NOT BAPTIZED BY THE ARCHBISHOP BUT RATHER WERE Baptized IN THE CHURCH OF THE ARCHBISHOP OF CHICAGO.

Here is a photo of my sister holding Sophia....no wait, that is Mom with me.

Hold on a second. You are telling me that I will have three of these with Fred in the next seven years? And in 33 years I'll be a grandmother, lawyer and owner of a kennel of loud dogs?
What have I gotten myself into....
I look ridiculous in this photo.

I like your copy.

I was sleeping in that one photo with you sleeping on my shoulder.

You were so cute and man I do look like Melissa in these pictures and you (Mike) look very much like Sophia. It is amazing!

In person, Sophia's resemblance to Mike as an infant is even more profound. Not surprisingly, Sophia is breathtaking! It would be wonderful to see photos of Sophia wearing the same Christening gown and matching bonnet, if possible.

Hmm I'm pretty sure my Mom has one of the christening gowns saved in her bedside table, I'm not sure if it's the one Mike wore, though!

Hi Beth,

I do still have the gown and bonnet. I made it for Mike and used it for Josh and Melissa. Melissa was 8 months old when she wore it so it fit her quite differently.

I will launder it and we can put it on her and get some photographs. I just cannot wait to see her.

Hi Tish,

Thanks for letting me know that you saved the gown and bonnet--wonderful news! Both pieces are truly beautiful. Sophia will look like an angel! I can't wait to see the photos.
